Major Folio

Ideas

The folio of work I had in mind was a conceptual fashion series of images. They are going to be bright and colourful, yet have a dark "mysterious" feel at the same time. This folio is going to be a series of six photographs that have no major meaning but are aesthetically pleasing.

I was going to work with various make up artist to help me paint models, in a way it is almost like they are melting with the use of think colourful lathed on paint. I was hoping either to have them shot in studio or location, Which ever is less messy.

The folio will have digitally blended
artificial elements such as splashes, drips and drops. Having them Incorporated in such a way that they looks nice and still flow with the images.

My presentation of this work will be A4 mounted on foam core, Still yet unsure if I will incorporate 1cm bleed on the images. I would like to keep all the images in the same size/shape, either portrait or landscape. If I decide to have a mix of both formats I will keep them the same proportions
rough idea
top format, having a mix of darker and lighter images

bottom format, mix of landscape and darker and lighter.

Samples of something similar

Here is a video of a rough concept idea that I had in mind.

styles and ideas of photos that I would like to refer to:

I like the smoke idea, but I disapprove of the nudity.
I like the colours and shapes in this image but again not the nudity.
Nice splashes, and nice sequence in the paint.
I like the part painted and not painted. But I defiantly don't like the shity photoshopping on the left hand side. I think he has just done this to fill the image out a little....
Power paint adds a nice effect.

This is  REALLY COOL! minus the nudity. NO WAY IN HELL could this be done in studio hahaha

 images by Garbriel Wickbold

The fact that they are all shot with a dark backgrounds is really cool I think! I want all of my images to have this feel about them, but with no nudity and just models by them selves.
I like the simple colours and style to this image.
Nice colours in this image again.

I only like the colours used in this image.

I like the look of the paint but its a bit to dark.

I like the models composition in both of these image, the top image isn't as strong it looks a lot like she is sneezing.

I like the motion in these images, but not the over processed look.
cool movement in the paint in this image, it kinda looks like its done in post production.
 interesting.
and again.
 ...
 cool splashes.
this is cool silhouetted, something to think about.

  • advanced photoshop blending and repositioning

    Some rough sketches iv done

I did these mainly for the models compostion and presentation, not the colours. I would like to move the bottom right hand head shot to the left, and the full body shot to the right. I also want the colours to be opposites.

Photographic Illustration Research

research photographic illustration practitioners and styles and identify several which appeal to you personally or you feel as though it would be useful from a commercial prospective.

focus on one of these and discus its visual appeal and aesthetic and investigate the technical requirements for producing work of this nature
